NOOOO! not my internet archive!!!!!

Somebody needs to do something!

I use internet archive a lot and love it.
I wish I could help cuz this is horrible!

So two of the most atrocious products of capitalism (Sony and UMG) are acting like greedy pieces of shit? Pathetic. But nothing new.

@Czyszy Of course it's Sony and UMG. They can't be a little bit humble.

@Simoes1000 "Spoken like a true fanatic..."

@TangoStar You could also include a link to the Internet Archive's original post about this in your News Post:
https://blog.archive.org/2025/04/17/take-action-defend-the-internet-archive/

change.org will not allow all/certain(?) VPNs to visit their site.

Well spotted, thank you for showing these!

I love the internet archive and everything it stands for. It's so incredibly useful and the world would be worse off if it were gone.

@Simoes1000 You want to do something?
1) share the petition with your friends, followers, people you know who care about knowledge for everyone
2) sign the petition
3) if you can't sign because you are not allowed to put your personal data in the petition, refer to point 1 (share the petition)

Are the record companies STILL trying to sue the Internet Archive (and basically kill it) because *gasp* they risk losing 3 pence over a song they haven't made available to legally purchase/stream for 30 years?
If they still are, they will be removing decades of internet history and old websites that are long-gone (and 99.99% of it will likely be lost to time), and make it very difficult (if not impossible) to find old archived stuff, which would make many things lost media again...
Anyways, I've signed the petition, and I might spread the word about this!

I'm spreading awareness about this on my YouTube and Newgrounds accounts. I don't think UMG will see my posts, but I'm doing my part! (i made a simplified version on youtube, but i will write up a more complex version on NG)
